From what we could tell the leaning tower is the only thing worth seeing in Pisa, and the train between Florence and Cinque Terre goes through Pisa anyway so we decided to stop off for a few hours. It was about a 20 minute walk from the train station to the tower through souvenir stalls and tourist trap restaurants.
The tower is exactly what you expect.
Kate was more interested in a cat that had cleverly positioned itself within a cordoned off area so it couldn't be annoyed.
She wouldn't take no for an answer though and eventually got him to come out for a pat and a photo....

For us the main attraction was watching everyone else make ridiculous poses. Usually either holding up or pushing over the tower. So we broke out the zoom lens and captured a few of our favourites.
